Bluerendr

Short version: we collect what we need to answer an enquiry, scope and deliver a project, take payment and support what we built. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising trackers on this site, and the public pages set no cookies.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy covers bluerendr.com and the ways you contact us through it: the chat window, the careers form, the review form and the invoice payment page. It applies to prospective and current clients, to people who apply to work with us, and to anyone who simply visits.

The business is referred to as Bluerendr, "we" and "us". We are based in Huntington Beach, California, and this policy also covers bluerendr.com and any other address this site is served from.

2. What we collect

If you use the chat. The name you give, an email address if you leave one, which page you were on when you opened the chat, your browser's user-agent string, and the messages you send. The chat is how most projects start, so what you tell us about your business and your systems ends up here.

If you apply to work with us. Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write about your experience, including any links you share.

If you leave a review. Your name, what you wrote, the kind of project it was, a contact detail if you give one, a star rating, and a record that you ticked the box giving us permission to publish it.

If you pay an invoice through the site. Your name, your email address, the amount, and any note you add. Card numbers never reach us. The payment runs on Stripe's own checkout page, and Stripe passes back only the result.

During a project. Whatever access and data the work requires, which is agreed in the scope. We treat client systems and data as confidential, we use them only to do the work, and we hand back or delete our copies when the engagement ends unless you ask us to keep them for support.

What we do not collect. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any other third-party tracker on this site. The public pages set no cookies. We do not track your location. We do not ask for or hold Social Security numbers, bank details or government identity documents.

3. How we use it

To answer you when you write to us. To scope, quote, build and support the work you ask for. To take payment and send a receipt. To consider your application if you applied to work with us. To publish your review if you gave us permission. To keep the site working and to stop automated junk reaching our forms.

We do not use what you tell us to advertise to you, and we do not build a profile of you.

4. Who we share it with

Stripe, which processes invoice payments and holds the card details we never see. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what it does with them.

Google Workspace, which carries our email, and Fly.io, which hosts this website and stores its data.

Subcontractors, where a project needs a specialist we do not have in house. They see only what that part of the work requires and are bound to the same confidentiality we are.

Anyone we are legally required to tell, such as in response to a valid legal demand, or where we need to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the last twelve months.

5. How long we keep it

Chat conversations and project records are kept while you are a client and for as long afterwards as we may reasonably need them to support work we did or answer a question about it. Payment records are kept for seven years, because tax rules require it. Applications we did not take forward are kept for up to a year. Published reviews stay up until you ask us to take yours down.

6. Your rights

If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what we have collected about you and where it came from, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and not to be treated worse for asking. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for you to opt out of, but you may still ask us to confirm that.

If you live in another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have broadly the same rights to confirm, access, correct, delete and port your information, and to appeal if we turn a request down.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to do any of the above and we will do our best to help.

How to ask. Call 657.204.6099 or write to the email address in the footer of this site. We will confirm who you are before acting, usually by checking the request against the contact details we already hold, and we will answer within 45 days.

7. Children

This site is not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

8. How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted on the way to us. Access to the dashboard where enquiries and messages live is limited to the people who run Bluerendr, sits behind a password and a second step by email, and the password is stored only as a hash that cannot be read back. Payment card details are held by Stripe and never by us. Client credentials we are given for a project are kept in a password manager, never in email or chat, and are rotated or returned when the work ends.

No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

9. Other websites

Our site links to work we have built for others and to services we use. What you do there is governed by their policies and not this one.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will say so more plainly than that.
